How to deal with your anger.

In the name of Allaah, the most gracious, the most merciful.

All praise be to Allaah, the Sustainer and Cherisher of the world. Peace and blessings of Allaah be upon the one after whom there is no other prophet.

I today will discuss some ways to deal with anger. Anger, also know as wrath or rage, is an intense emotional state involving a strong uncomfortable and hostile response to a perceived provocation, hurt or threat. It is one of the six natural fault for every human being. Every human being gets angry in some unexpected situations. It is quite difficult to find a person who doesn't get angry in the world. When a person gets angry he/she usually lose his/her consciousness and commits unfair action. Anger grows in one's mind when he/she become humiliated, insulted, harassed, neglected and for some others causes. Anger usually brings bad result. In the state of anger, someone break up relationship, someone break glass and plate or furniture. Someone even commit suicide becoming angry. So, we must need control our anger. There are some ways of controlling anger according to the teaching of our beloved prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).
These are following:

1. Seeking refuge with Allaah from devil:

Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: " If a man gets angry and says, I seek refuge to Allah, then his anger will go away."
(Saheeh Al-Jaami)

In other hadith, Sulayman ibn Sard ( may Allaah be pleased with him) said, I was sitting with the prophet ( peace and blessings of Allaah be him) and two men were slandering one another. One of them were red in face and the veins of his neck were standing out. The prophet ( peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) told, ' I know a word which, if he were to say it, what he feels would go away.' If he said, ' I seek refuge with Allaah from devil, what he feels (i.e. his anger) would go away.
(Saheeh Bukhari)

Therefore, we should seek refuge to Allaah from devil whenever we get angry.

2. Keeping Silent:

We no need to react to all actions in our life. Sometimes it is must need to keep silent.
Our beloved prophet said, ' if any of you gets angry, let him keep silent.'
(Saheeh Al Jaami).

3. Not moving here and there:

In many cases, when we get anger we try our best to harm others. Sometimes someone is killed only for anger. One of the way of controlling anger is not moving. There  is a hadith where our prophet ( peace be upon him) advised us not to move in the state of anger.

"If any of you become angry and he is standing, let him seat down, so his/her anger will go away. If it doesn't go away, let him lie down", Said the messenger of Allaah ( peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)

4. Following the advice of prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him):

As a Muslim, it is our duty to follow the advice of the messenger of Allah (glory to Him).
Narrated Abu Hurayra ( may Allah be pleased with him), A man asked Muhammad (pbuh) for advice. The messenger of Allaah told him, ' Do not get angry'. The man asked several times for advice  and each time Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) replied with same word, ' Do not get angry'.
(Saheeh Bukhari)

5. Knowing the high status offered for them who control their anger:

The one who can control his anger is the most strongest person, according to the hadith.
Our beloved prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: ' The strong man is not the one who can win in wrestling. Rather, the strongest person is the one who can control his anger.'

However, the aforementioned teachings of the messenger of Allaah can help us to control our anger. As much as we follow the life of the prophet ( peace be upon him), our life will be glorified.
Allaah ( The Exalted and Glorified) says in the holy Qur'an, " Indeed in the life of messenger of Allaah you have a good example."

In fine, we have to seek for Allaah's help to control our anger. We are alone will not be able to deal with devil whisper of Shaytan e.i. anger. If almighty Allaah help us to fight against shaytan, then we will be able to control our anger. May Allah have mercy on us. We seek refuge with Allah from Shaytan.
