dear brothers and sisters, how are you?
I hope you all are hale and hearty by the grace of Allah,
the almighty. Alhamdulillah, I am also well by His mercy.
Today, I am going to write about the importance of English
reading skills.
I hope you will be with my writing until it comes
to the end.
May Allah give me ability of writing a worth
reading article on my selected topic. Ameen.
Read, in Arabic Iqra, the first word revealed on
the last and final prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) from Allah about 1500
years ago in the cave of Hera in Mecca in Saudi Arabia. The people of Arab was
then living in darkness and there was no humanity among the Arabs. They even buried
their female baby in live after their birth.
In this situation, Allah, the most powerful and
gracious, sent His messenger to Arab to teach them humanity. Allah has sent a
guidebook for all mankind to live peacefully in the world. And the first instruction
was ‘read’. ‘Read, in the name of your Lord who created- created men from a
clinging substance’ it is the first revealed sentence in the Holy Qur’an.
So, we can easily understand about the importance
of reading. Reading is the main weapon learning, gaining knowledge about any
matter. In the world, who are still now alive in our mind despite of died, most
of they had a habit of reading, history says us it about them. Even in the present
world, if we look at some famous and successful man, then we can see-
⇒Bill Gates, the pioneer of Microsoft, reads about 50 books in a year.
⇒In 2015, Mark Zuckerberg, the founder and CEO of Facebook, pledged to read a book in
every two weeks.
⇒Zig Ziglar, a motivational speaker claimed to read
three hours day, despite his tight schedule.
⇒Warrant Buffet reads 500 pages a day. He stated that,
he spends about 80% of his time to reading.
⇒Another billionaire Mark Cuban read 3 hours a day.
He reads about 200 books in a year.
⇒The New York Times best-selling author, Tim Ferriss
reads 3 to 4 books a week.
In 11 March 2014, BBC published a report that says poor
people less likely to read books than their richer neighbors in England.
So, we can say that reading is the weapon of
becoming rich in knowledge and wealth too.
Well, I was talking about the importance of English
reading skills.
As our native language is Bengali, we are used to
read in Bengali language. But in this age of globalization, we need to know
about the whole world. The world’s 80% of information are written in English.
So, We have to have a have skills of English reading to know the world.
I live in a society and I know only my native
culture and tradition, I have less opportunity to visit the world, then how can
I know about the world? Here is my reading skills help me to know the world sitting
in my room.
If we have English reading skills, then we can easily
learn many things many culture and traditions about others nation, others
countries by reading.
In our student life, reading is most important tool
to make us skilled and cut a good mark in our exam. In our professional life,
reading skills helps us to be more skilled in our job sector. In leisure time,
it helps us to know many things we wish.
Reading skills is the most valuable tool in one’s
life.
Without reading skills none can shine in life and
live in peace.
In fine, I would like to say the importance of English
reading skills is beggar description.
How much I ahead or behind from English reading
skills?
If I compare myself with previous myself then I can
say I have improved a lot in reading skills. Once I was so much weak in reading
both in Bengali and English. After joining Search English and Digital Skillsfor Bangladesh group, I have improved a lot by following Razib Ahmed sir’s instructions.
But, I have a long path to go to reach at my destination.
I hope I will have a strong English reading skills soon.
I need all of your prayer to reach at my
destination.
Pray for me.
Thanks for reading my post.
